Bay Area Women's Cycling : Series Info

As a woman bike racer, you’ve experienced:
> How difficult it is to race when all the categories are lumped together
> How hard it is to measure progress when you don’t get a chance to race against many competitors
> How promoters are reluctant to separate women’s race categories when field sizes are so small

Now there is a race series to help address these issues!

ANNOUNCING
The 2002 Northern California
Women’s Category 3, 4, 5 Road Bicycle Racing Series

Sponsored by The Northern California Nevada Cycling Association

The Racing Series is a points series with prizes awarded to at least the top ten – after the 5th and 11th races. All of the races on the 2002 schedule have separate races and/or placings for the Category 3 and 4/5 women. Please encourage the women in your clubs to participate!

> April 20 – Madera County Criterium, Madera, CA

> April 21 – Madera County Road Race, Madera, CA

> April 27 – Wente Road Race, Livermore, CA

> April 28 – Wente Criterium, Livermore, CA

> May 18 – Kern County Stage Race (Iron Mountain Road Race), Bakersfield, CA (Note: You must participate in the prior two races of this stage race.)

> May 19 – Kern County Stage Race (Paris-Loraine Road Race), Bakersfield, CA (Note: You must participate in the prior three races of this stage race.)

> June 1 – Wheels of Thunder Criterium, Pleasanton, CA

> July 20 – Livermore Hills Road Race, Livermore, CA

> August 31 – San Ardo Road Race, San Ardo, CA

> September 1 – University Road Race, Santa Cruz, CA

> September 2 – Giro di San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
