Beginner Women's Track Clinic -- May 2nd and 3rd
Content: This clinic will prepare and certify new women to race the track. In this full weekend clinic we will cover fixed gear riding, bike handling and track-specific skills, as well as mock races and strategy. Women will be prepared for the first Friday night track race, held May 9th, in which clinic participants will have a special race category.
Racing clinic will be taught by Masters Track National medalist Annabell Holland, with assistance from Michael Hernandez. Special guest appearance on Sunday by US National Scratch Race champion and World Championships USA National Team member, Shelley Olds. Shelley will be giving racing tactics instructions and advice during our mock races on Sunday afternoon.
Who Should Attend? The clinic is open to all beginner women who are interested in racing on the track. Cat 3/4 women who race on the road are highly encouraged to attend. Women who have attended some Saturday morning beginner sessions or have minimal track race experience are also encouraged to attend.
Date & Time: Saturday, May 2nd 8:30 to 4:30 and Sunday, May 3rd 10:30 to 4:00. Lunch both days will be provided.
Location: Hellyer Park Velodrome, 995 Hellyer Ave. San Jose, CA. $6 parking fee required each day.
Cost: $70, which includes rental bike fee, track bike fee, and lunch both days. Checks can be made payable to NCVA.
What to Bring: a helmet, cycling clothes, and water bottles. If you have a track bike, please bring it. If you do not, you can use a Hellyer track rental bike. Please indicate your bike size in the registration form. Also, please bring your pedals.
How to Register: Please register by Friday, April 17th. Space is limited. To register,

2) Beth will then send you a registration form, which you must mail back and include payment.
