Although this has little to do with our carbon footprint, this year's "Palo Alto Bicycles RONDE VAN BRISEEN Omnium presented by Kaiser-Permanente/Team Oakland" marches into the season expanding our green theme started in 2007. We're talking color green, as in new fence covers, medals, truss signage, and extending to our big special for the 2009 vintage - Ronde Musette bags!
Made from 20% recycled plastic bottles and 80% recycled cotton, these always correct luggage devices will be presented to the first 400 participants who have signed up for both days of the Omnium as our premium for on-line registration. We'll get a list crunched out by SBO that will identify our lucky signups. Since this is an Omnium and racers are not obligated to race both days, any single day competitor will still be able to buy one of these collector's items - and maybe you'll put it onto your mantle collection of Ronde van Brisbeen medals, caps from last year and socks from 2007! All of them in luscious decorator GREEN!
Casey has approved larger field limits for 2 of our Sunday categories at Brisbane Highland's circuit race. EMen Cat. 4 and MMen 35+ Cat. 4 have had their maximum field sizes enlarged to 125 entrants - based upon overall road conditions for that circuit. Saturday's "Hot Dog Hairpin" race course in the Brisbane Marina remains at 75 riders max. due to it's size, however.
T-minus 32 days and counting!
