Some of you may have seen me at the Dunnigan RR, either laid out on the ground and unconscious, or losing pints of blood from my face. i nailed a pothole at 30 mph and my front wheel completely failed, sending me face-first into the asphalt.
Bottom line, my helmet saved my life, and it's sheer luck and providence that I am not paralyzed. I saw Ben Brooks go down at Cascades this July, and that image has been running through my mind the past couple of days as to how lucky I am.
I just want to send out a HUGE thanks to my team, VOS Racing, and to the NorCal cycling community for the love and support that my wife and I have received through this. Also a big big shout-out to Norman Zellers and Ryan Bennett for caring for me while we waited for the ambulance, and their kind words of support afterwards. And whoever sacrificed your sweatshirt to help with the bleeding, I have it here, and it's all clean again.
I know there were others there on site, offering help and assistance, and we are forever in your debt.... please mention it to me next time I see you so I can give credit and appreciation where it is due.
Big big thanks to all,
jonathan and jamie
