Flat during your race? Chain skipping during warm-ups? Need a last minute derailleur tweak? Chad Contreras and the SRAM Services Course team can support all of those circumstances AND MORE when he sets up shop at this weekend’s Palo Alto Bicycles “Ronde van Brisbeen†presented by Kaiser-Permanente. The SRAM team will be on site just past the finish lines for both days and Sunday’s Chief Referee Erik Petersen has given his blessing for the weekend’s last event to have SRAM on the road during the Pro Cat ½ race. They’ll have wheels and Orbea bikes, outfitted in “Redâ€, of course, following the final 75 minute race. During all other events the SRAM tent will be providing neutral service and equipment to racers in need.
Online registration is still open for a couple more days – see the website for details but space is still open for Pro’s Cat ½’s, EMen Cat 3, MMen 35 1/2/3 on both days and EWomen Cat 3 on Saturday. And if you'e still making up your mind, Greta and her registration staff will take care of walk-up entries on both race days.
Podium winners may need strong sun glasses to protect their eyes from the glare of their prize – we’re resurrecting an older Pilarcitos tradition and awarding Category winners in gold coins (the new Presidential dollar coins – James Monroe) inside green bags.
And those special cloth cycling caps for our 1st 150 competitors who registered for both days – they’re here – they’re classic – “Dude, they’re awesomeâ€. We’ll have a limited number for sale, too.
It’s Ronde time – are you a “Flahaut?â€
