Just a final reminder about the clinic for new officials that will be happening on the weekend of Jan 19th and 20th. The session on the 19th is classroom lecture and it will be held at the Livermore Library from 9am to 4pm. The Sunday session will be held at the Early Bird training Crit and feature hands on practice and the taking of the open book test. Anyone who wants to take the officials clinic should contact Robert Leibold at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up and get more details. Having a couple of officials in your club is a good idea, especially if your club will be promoting a race this year. Having your own club officials will generally save your club money on the officials bill since your own club members probably live closer to your race and they might even give you a break on the normal officials fees. Also with more days with multi races on them we need a larger pool of officials to make sure we can cover all the races that need officials.
The clinic on the 19th and 20th will be the basic officials clinic. Anyone who is interested in becoming a motor official needs to pass the basic officials clinic to qualify for the motor officials clinic. After we see who passes the clinic we will start the process of setting up a motor officials clinic.
