NCNCA ROAD UPDATE
As the President I wanted to send out a note of Congratulations to the Women racers who claimed NCNCA District Championship honors at Sunday's Menlo Park GP. It was a outstanding day for racing, and the best of class rose to the top step of the podium when all was said and done. Thank you to the Velo Girls team for hosting all the action! Seeing the Women of the NCNCA battle for the Criterium District Championships was truly inspiring. Congratulations to all the new 2013 regional champions!

Jane Despas, Lesley Jensen and Norma Hilton all defended their 2012 NCNCA Crit. Championship titles. Congratulations to those racers for keeping their titles.
Some other racing performances that have recently went off from the super talented competitors of the NCNCA that I wanted to mention are...
Laurel Green and the Early Bird Women's Developmental Team delivered some excellent results at the Tour of Americ'as Dairyland held in Wisconsin. Heading to Wisconsin to compete against other Women from across America is quite the challenge. Plus the Early Bird Women's Developmental Team had to face adverse conditions that presented itself each day during the action, such as rain, heavy wind and scorching heat. These ladies showed great strength and class during the racing all while representing the NCNCA and the Women racers of our region in a extremely positive manner.
Also throwing down some incredible results during the Tour of America's Dairyland was the Masters Men racers of Team Bicycle Plus/ZIPZ Cycling Team. This group of dedicated racers made their annual pilgrimage to the TOD with Greg Betonte leading the charge. When all was said and done it was speedy David Albrecht who claimed top honors in the Men's 45+ division overall. This particular age group at the TOD, as well as in the NCNCA, is one of the most hotly contested of all and very much shows the overall team power of the Men from ZIPZ Cycling.
Another Masters team from the NCNCA that is clearly deserving of some praise is the first year Primetime Cycling Team for the Ott Sports Group. This team has railed off a considerable amount of victories this season. It is my honor as NCNCA President, as well as a privilege for other NCNCA Masters racers to suit up and battle this all-star cast of racers from the Primetime Cycling Team each weekend. Week after week this team raises the bar of competition for the NCNCA, just like the Hammer Nutrition/Charity of Choice Team does with Cale Reeder & Dirk Himely leading the way. For the Primetime Cycling Team is is Patrick Briggs, Dean LaBerge and Kevin Klein who have produced the plethora of victories for the squad during 2013.
The NCNCA has the very best Masters Racing in America! Looking at the top of the standing in the BikeReg.com Premier Series, or the NCNCA Points Series, is a full run down of the fastest and most bike savvy Masters racers in the USA. I am sure that some of those Masters racers on the score sheets of the NCNCA Series, and others who race regularly in our region, will gain top honors at the upcoming Masters National Championships in September.
I would also again like to thank the USA Cycling Officials who work tirelessly at each and every event to keep the racing safe and fun for all riders. The NCNCA has the best racing in the USA and also has some of the best Officials in the USA as well!
Lastly, I would like to thank the elected NCNCA Board of Directors who all have volunteered their time, attended monthly NCNCA BOD meetings and given a large effort to support all that goes into the NCNCA throughout the year. Thank you to Kristen Hill, Tim Burgess, Robert Leibold, Ted Fisher, Marc Franklin, Carlos Soto, Mike Hardaway and Ryan Fu!
