2013 NCNCA MENTORING PROGRAM

The NCNCA Mentoring Program teaches and monitors safe racing skills for both Category 5 men and Category 4 women throughout the racing season. Building on the fundamental racing skills learned and practiced in the Early Bird Racing Series, this program gives novice racers the unique opportunity to continue learning and practicing these skills in a sanctioned race. Qualified mentors ride alongside racers in both road and criterium events and observe and advise when necessary to encourage safe racing. A de-briefing session follows the race, giving racers a chance to ask questions and discuss what worked and what didn’t work during that particular race.

Mentors do not affect the outcome of the race.
