Zamora -- Lost Computer
Sun, 03/19/2006 - 8:31pm
I lost my Christmas present at the Zamora Road Race on Sunday: A Garmin GPS bike computer. I would be very grateful for its return if you find it, and I'm happy to buy you a beer or whatever you drink. Thank you very much, Josh Lerner

For ya'lls information... A separate "Lost and Found" category has been added to these forums.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and offers of help. Goes to show what a good cycling community we have around here. Thanks again to everyone, Josh
I've already told Josh this news, but I'm afraid it was turned into SGW after it had been destroyed. In light of the posting above, it must have gotten run over by bike wheels. It looked like it had been run over by a car.
Sorry.

If it helps, this is what the computer I lost looks like. Thanks again.

Wow, a forum with a happy ending! :D
EDITED: Oops, sorry, I misread this - skipped the 'not'!
Grading final papers has made my eyes go screwy.

I pin the key to the inside of the waistband of my bibshorts. Easy to get to for that one last stop at the car, and if the pin opens, well, I'll know about it and the key probably won't go too far...

Saved me a difficult phone call to my wife in SF and better still the icy glares of the three teammates who caught a lift with me. Maybe next time I won't put the keys in the same pocket as that banana I like to have 60 minutes into a RR.

Here's a hint on how to avoid losing your keys during a race. Use a safety pin to pin it into one of your jersey pockets. I only carry a single key and that makes it easier......

Hey, Josh I live nearby the course & after that last post, I could spin out there take a look to see if I find anything. I am sure any thing dropped in that section would be on the left hand side of the road. Unless you have found it already. Let me know. I will try to find a pict. of it on the net to see what I'm looking for.
I've been told that if you contact Jim Kirstein james.kirstein@dgs.ca.gov he might know where your missing computer is.
Josh,
My teamate saw a computer bounce and roll as, apparently it had just came off a bike ahead of us, he called out that someone lost there computer but heard no response. This happened on the crosswind stretch between the top of the hill and the last turn to the finish.
