To All Women Racers in Northern CA/NV,

We currenlty have 17 total women signed up for the Golden State Race Series on May 5 & 6, of which only five are non-Rio Strada Women's racers????? Really...??? I must say that it is very disappointing to see such low turnouts at not only our race, but at other races around Northern CA. If women want races to race at, they need to support the race promoters that host races for them.

We provide many “women’s specific” preems, in addition to Yellow Overall Series Winners Jerseys, signed by George Hincapie, for our race….specifically for women! However, what is the point if women do not sign up and race.

We will again have Overall Series Winner Yellow Jerseys this year AND a Golden State Race Series "The Golden Nugget" Trophy for all overall series winners. AND...if that is not enough, other than price money each day the overall series winners will also take home a prize from both JBL Loudspeakers & Marmot. There are about 600 women in NCNCA. The average racer days per year is 7. That means 4,200 female racer days and about 28,000 male racer days (4,000 men). There are more than 160 events on the calendar. You should anticipate an average of 26 women and 175 men. You have 121 registrations which is 17/26 (65%) women and 100/175 (57%) men. Keep in mind that men have many more opportunities for racing twice which means you probably have only about 80 unique men registered. Now go berate the MEN for not pre-registering for your races.

We need a women's race schedule to insure larger and more competitive fields. OR promoters can continue to expect women to race MORE than men OR??? Women are racing their share.

I really like your race but our women (Stevens Bikes p/b Pactimo) have committed to the Premier Series which means Cat's Hill on Saturday. Funny thing is that you have more preregistration than Cat's Hill in the Women's P/1/2 category.

The last thing I'll say is that P/1/2 Men and Women fields always lean toward later or day of registration.
