Unattached riders--Please join a club!!!
Wed, 11/24/2010 - 1:07am
Folks,
Of the 4685 riders listed as USCF licensed racers, over 25% are shown as unattached or no club affliation. Women unattached = 110 ; no club listed = 16 . Men unattached = 1039 ; no club listed = 62. That's a total of 1227 riders that have no club or team on their license and therefore should be racing in plain jerseys. Good thing NCNCA doesn't suggest charging an unattached rider fee like in did in the prehistoric days of 2001 and 2002. That would be a ton of revenue! All preventable by joining a club!!!

The club that had riders wearing the Chica Sexy race kit is now a USAC club, thanks to Fergus Tanaka. Welcome aboard, Chica Sexy.

Sounds good but where is a good place for unattached riders look for a club to join?
I have a male friend who has been trying to find a club to join but is coming up against a brick wall (teams no longer accepting new members at this point). Any guy teams still recruiting?
Yeah, typically clubs will fill their rosters for the following season in Oct-Dec. of the previous year, so to be on a team this year, he would have had to look for a club to join at the end of 2010. With that said, if he's interested in racing for Colavita NorCal, we are the exception to the rule - with us, you can join mid-season. Of course, there is a question of whether he feels we are the right team for him, location, preferred races, etc., etc., but at least there's no brick wall you mentioned. If he's interested, shoot me an email (vitaly [dot] gashpar [at] gmail, and I'll get him in touch with our team manager for further details and info.
