Assuming I'm willing to travel to do more stage races (as a Cat 3), where might I find them listed either on- or off-line?

I'll be at Superweek (internationalcycling.com) for about ten days. Missing my teammates (ahem).

I just did Elkhorn Classic in Baker City, Oregon. Great race.

Last year I did Tucson Bicycle Classic which they cancelled this year, but that was a great race too.

Both races were well run and organized and results were posted quickly.

I wish we could get more stage races in Nor-Cal. Talking to some of the guys up at Elkhorn, it sounds like clubs love putting on stage races. Here I think there must be such a hard time with permits and finding the sponsors and people to volunteer, the only race we have is Madera.

I am heading up to Cascade Classic next weekend which by the looks of the website and reading the race bible looks very professional. Only about 8 hours via car from Sac. Elkhorn was about 11 to 12 depending on stop time.

Having done both of them last year as a Cat 3, I would have to recommend Joe Martin in Arkansas in May and Fitchburg in MA in July. Both had great support and top-notch, 100-man fields on challenging courses. If I had to pick one over the other it would be Fitchburg, as it's four events over four days, versus three over two and the terrain is more varied (something for everyone). Enjoy.

OBRA runs some great ones, there's the Everest Challenge in Sept (see NCNCA calendar), and don't forget the best one of all...

I tend to just look at all of the organization websites within the area I am willing to travel:

http://www.ncnca.org
http://www.scnca.org
http://www.obra.org
http://www.wsbaracing.com
http://www.americancycling.org
http://www.lostrivercycling.org

I don't know if there is a more inclusive, national listing anywhere.
