Timed Events Day
Sunday, June 17, Hellyer Park Velodrome
Gates open for warmup at 9am
The first event will begin at 10am

The order of events is as follows:
Flying 200m
Open track for 15 minutes
Standing start TT's…
500m
1000m
2000m
3000m
4000m
Open track for 15 minutes
Team Sprint
Team Pursuit

Riders can do any event they wish, once.
No rental bikes available. If you have never done a particular event before, if you like we'll get you a mentor to help you prepare.

$10 total entry fee, includes as many events as you like.

So that we can have an idea of how many riders and rides there will be, please send an email to: warren at usvh.com before the 15th with your name, and the events you plan to do. We will collect all entry fees at the event during registration and sign-in. Registration will be available 9am-11:00am, until an hour before your first event. If you decide to add or drop an event it's no big deal, just let me know well in advance of your start. You do not have to pre-register, but it will help us all if you do.

Based on the pre-registration I will print a start sheet of all riders and the preliminary start order on the 15th, and post a link to it here.

Thanks to Peet's Coffee and Joe Fineman, I have 6 gift certificates for a free pound of coffee (I think they can be used for other items too.). I will randomly draw the 6 winners from everyone who pre-registers and I'll give out the certificates at the event-you must show up and ride to claim yours.

After the timed events are completed there will be an intermediate/advanced open training session until 2pm. The session supervisor will be Annabell.

There will probably be more discussion about this event here... http://groups.google.com/group/ncva?gvc=2

We have 42 riders signed up to do approximately 110 heats.
36 x 200's, 26 x 500's, 19 x kilos, 10 x 2000's, 9 x 3000's, 5 x 4000's, and
then team sprint and team pursuit. I spent a couple of hours arranging the
start orders to maximize the time between each person's rides. I think the
minimum time between rides for anyone came out to about 35-40 minutes.

You can get a rough estimate of the time between your rides by counting the
number of heats and applying the following estimates (close, but not
perfect): Each 200mTT heat takes about 1.5 minutes, same for the 500mTT,
about 2.5 minutes per kilo, 3.5 minutes per 2000, 5 minutes per 3000, 6
minutes per 4000. If we can move quicker than this, we will.

It's best to print out a copy of the two attached files and be ready to go
on race day.
Rider Notes are attached as a Word file. The Start Lists are attached as an
Excel file.

The randomly-chosen winners of a gift certificate good for one pound of
Peet's Coffee are...
Mark Patten
Shawn Hatfield
Beth Newell
Jon Swanson
Ben Hawkins
Joakim Vinberg

The winners must pick up their certificate on race day or someone else gets
it. Thanks to Peet's Coffee for providing the certificates and to Joe
Fineman for getting them for us.

See you Sunday!

More people have signed up and we're basically at our 4-hour limit. Riders can still sign up with pre-reg by sending me an email before the end of Thursday, but there won't be any room to add riders who want to register on race day. No race-day registration available.

I'll post the final start sheets on Friday and you can print them out for your own reference.

Registration Update

So far we have:
24 x 200's, 14 x 500's, 17 x kilos, 7 x 2k's, 6 x 3k's, 4 x 4k's, 15 riders for team sprint, and 8 riders for team pursuit. We don't have the helpers and timers to do 2-ups, and since there aren't very many pursuits 2-ups wouldn't save us much time.

At this point we are getting close to 4 hours of rides. I need to ask that riders limit themselves to 2 TT rides plus a 200, and any team events they wish to do.

I'm getting very close to saying there won't be any more riders added on race day, so it may end up being pre-reg only.

...Just a reminder that if you're planning to do the Timed Events Day on Sunday it will be helpful if you'll RSVP to me before Friday with an email about which rides you'd like to do.
