Slots still available and Lamp Liter still has rooms left at a tremendous discount.
See you this weekend at the world famous Quad Knopf Sequoia Cycling Classic.
Worse conditions I've ever seen as a racer for the last 20+ years during CVC at Kearney Park...great jobs to all the racers and supporters that endured the Hail, sleet, rain, and windy conditions. Sunday had rain but cleared for .great Wmns Pro / Elite 2 / and Pro 1 races.
On to Quad Knopf Sequoia Cycling Classic. Thank you to all that have pre-registered and registered this weekend (including Teams Cal Giant and Olympic Pro Lisa Hunt); don't forget this includes half-off your 2007 entry if you pre-register before Friday this week.
Events start Tuesday with a pre-TT course fun ride, Pro/Team/Media/Sponsor breakfast on Friday with Expo and TT check-in on Friday afternoon from 3-10 pm at Lamp Liter Inn in Visalia (who have outstanding rates btw for the race!)
Lot's planned and thank you again for your support! We'll see you this week and let's see who will get the fastest Time Trial time on Saturday- a Pro 1 cyclist or a Triathlete?
sscbike.org has all the info...
Just wanted to let everyone know that ALL pre-registered for the 2006 QUAD KNOPF SEQUOIA CYCLING CLASSIC will get half-off their entry for the 2007 rendition!
Can't be transferred nor used this year! So, get your registrations in now and pick-up your half-off certificate next week at this years Classic for next years Classic!!
My gracious staff are correct. We'll have number pickup ONLY for those pre-registered for the Time Trial. There will still be no registration on the day of race for the Time Trial.
I'm still wondering if a Triathlete will take the fastest time of the day over the pure cyclists. You know those Ironman and Ironwoman competitors are very strong (i.e. Steve Larsen - although he started as a pure cyclist) and don't forget Ms. Catharina "Cat" Berge - 2005 RAAM CHAMPION and Arts Cyclery/Trisportbike Cycling Team member, who is competing as well in the Women 3 category.
Lots of spots still open, plenty of host housing for teams, and Lamp Liter Inn in Visalia is the race headquarters/host hotel and they have plenty of rooms at discount for us. Also, lots of prize money to be given and FREE spectator contests are up for grabs. Spectator events also win cash prizes!!
Just a note about the Saturday time trial;
There WILL be NUMBER PICK UP ONLY Saturday morning from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. (as well as the Friday night number pick up as advertised).
Mark Purnell may post more details later, but the request for this adjustment has been heard and will now be allowed!
Thanks for all the interest and support!
The Sequoia Race weekend will be bigger and better in '07!
