Sea Otter moving to may next year

For people who like to plan their race schedules early here is a bit of new. got the following from Cyclingnews.com
"In response to requests and recommendations from our athletes, fans, and sponsors, we have decided to host the Sea Otter Classic on May 1-4, 2008," said Frank Yohannan, president and CEO of the Sea Otter Classic, Inc.
This will shake up the old schedule a bit next year.

If that Sat. and Sun. is now open, everybody should be well rested for Santa Cruz :D .
This would also provide Robert an good opportunity to start a new race in Stanislaus County; Claribel/Warnerville  . I know he has been debating it.

Not surprised about this but I am disappointed, it was a blast racing the race track.
The Schedule will be out in mid Dec just like it always is. AS I always tell people about 90% of the schedule next year will look like the schedule this year. There is suppose to be a new NRC level event in mid May in San Jose and Cougar Mt. is suppose to be going away.
Thanks Casey.
Any other tips on next year's schedule? It's planning time...
Shortly after the Sea Otter folks released a press release about moving to May they had to back track and go back to an April date.
Has anyone heard confirmation of this? Their website says April 17-20 2008...
This just goes to show you what they think of Nor Cal racing.
"Oh let's not contact the NCNCA directly and give them a heads up, let's make them find out second hand through news media."
"Never mind that we are stomping on long standing classic races, we are the 800 lb gorilla, we will do what we want."
I guess we are all just B company. It is exactly this attitude towards Nor Cal racers that has earned them the ever growing boycott they receive.
The company has gone straight down hill since Rick Sutton left.
Whatever!

With the "luck" Sea Otter has had with the weather, it will probably rain that weekend.
That is too bad it is on the same weekend. Oh well, WF has more tradition and excitement to miss over SOC.

This will likely also be a conflict with the Wildflower Triathlon.
