Almost every parent knows that March is the month to get Girl Scout cookies like Tagalongs, Samoas, Trefoils, and of course everyones favorites - Thin Mints. To match the "Green Theme" for this year's Ronde Van Brisbeen Omnium, Pilarcitos Cyclesports has made a bulk purchase of enough Thin Mints to cover the podium (or sink a battleship). And those podium prizes make a great combo with the newly minted RVB medals, RVB socks and RVB T-shirts that all reflect this year's gaudy green look.

Ronde Countdown! Coming up April 1st and 2nd
Green hay bales sprout after spring rains!

The Ronde Van Brisbeen is just 2 few weeks away and this kermesse-style event is admirably suited for the Belgium tough guy "Flahute" title. Call it either a long criterium or a short road lap, each race on saturday is going to be 50 minutes of hard work on the edges of San Bruno Mountain. As usual the City of Brisbane has given us permission to use half of the roads on Valley Dr, W. Hill and S. Hill Drives with the infamous "Minty Green" right hander squeezing fields through it's hay bales and the exquisite final 400 meter sprint. Ask your team - where do you start your lead out? The false summit? Got something left for the final 100 meters? Time and lactic acid will be the only indicators....

And don't forget this year is Omnium format - final prizes are contingent on both days of racing and we'll divvy up the loot on Sunday at the conclusion of the Sierra Point criterium with it's Australian crit style "Hot Dog" corner. Cyclesports/Trumer Pils have already created a spectacular prizelist for distribution on sunday to the scorchers who perform at maximum warp.

We've awarded $2.00 bills in past years as prizes - as well as Sacajawea and Susan B. Anthony dollar coins - what do you think will be in the Omnium winners bag on Sunday?

It's the Ronde - Flahutes are "All Weather" competitors - Are you?

More info, maps, schedules, directions, please review the website at http://www.pilarcitos.com

And don't forget - It's a little more than 180 days 'til 2006 'cross season starts......

The Ronde van Brisbeen !

Eric is forwarding an email from Tom. Off the top of my head so I could be wrong but Tom said there were issues with safety and the time trial courses and it was relatively easier for Pilarcitos to do a two day omnium versus the three stage mini stage race with short notice.
