Ronde still has a few spaces available
The weather forecasters don't expect a repeat of the 2006 Ronde and the tremendous rains we had last year. The forecast is for increasing sunshine and temps closing in on mid-70's by the weekend.
We've had record early registration with several groups at or near maximums - so we've bumped up the number of porta potties and will be bumping up the number of cash primes at the "Ronde Van Brisbeen", presented by Kaiser Permanente. Every group (except Cat. 5's, it's USAC law, guys) will have some additional greenbacks for bonus laps during their events and for those of you thinking about your current Healthcare policies, Kaiser Permanente will have representatives on site at both days to explain some of their options.
Here are the remaining spots for day-of-race registration
Brisbane Highlands - Saturday
EMen 2/3 17 spots left
EMen 4 Full
EMen 5 17 spots left
EWomen 31 spots left
MMen 1/2/3 49 spots left
MMen 4 13 spots left
MMen 5 16 spots left
MMen 45 4/5 17 spots left
Sierra Point - Sunday
EMen 2/3 30 spots open
EMen 4 9 spots open
EMen 5 31 spot open
EWomen 4 35 spots open
MMen 1/2/3 62 spots open
MMen 4 38 spots open
MMen 5 35 spots open
MMen 45 4/5 39 spots open
We will start day-of-race waiting list for EMen Cat 4 that will be filled 15 minutes prior to the start of that event.
A word about parking - we are currently working on overflow facilities just a few blocks from the race course and will be directing competitors towards them as our main lots fill. Please think "Car Pool", especially with team mates to help reduce the impact upon the surrounding neighborhoods. Consideration for their concerns goes a long way to keep this venue available for racing.
Thanks mucho

Thank you Tom.

Steve, 44 Cat. 2's currently signed up for Saturday. It's not a Casey decision for upgrade points, but handled at USAC level and I've asked Jan-Luke if we get any kind of dispensation for "Close".

Hey Chris,
Yes. There would have to be 60+ Cat 2 field for the points. Good luck.
steve
I just looked at the registration list for the cat 2/3...
6 clubs are fielding teams of about 10 riders each for the Highland Circuit Race. Can you say "counter attack"? This is going to be intense.
Great! Thanks Tom. I should expect nothing less from you. You always do a wonderful job. I will keep my eyes open.
steve
ps. now if you could just ask SFO to delay all flights during my race so my asthma does not flair up! ;-)
Steve,
I'm racing in the 35+, but if I don't feel too wiped out and there's still room I plan to enter the 2/3 race.
Do we need to have 60 Cat 2's in order for it to count for upgrade points?
