Hello,

I am a Michigan roadracer looking to do a few races while out in California over the July 4 week. I found a few races outlined the Davis Criterium on July 4 and road race in Monterey on July 7.

Can anyone share some insight or past experiences with these races? Terrain? Race distance?

I am a USAC CAT3 RR.

Thanks
Bob

July racing

That July 6 race sounds like what i was hoping for, unfortunately i will be in a wedding that day.

Can you guys tell me a little about ncnca in regard to registration. Do i have to join your organization to race these events or is my USAC membership adequate?

Also if any of you race these events; are there inexpensive hotels in the relative area?

PACERS is hoping to get a

PACERS is hoping to get a criterium in Antioch, CA. One of the suggested dates is July 4, 2013. That'd be 3 days straight of criterium racing! Check our facebook page for updates; should the race flyer be approved, it'll be posted on the ncnca.org calendar

Fourth of July Criterium -

Fourth of July Criterium - Very well-attended and competitive moderately technical (number of turns and narrowing section) criterium course. A stop on the NorCal Premier Series (20 top races in the area)

Central Coast Circuit Races - Competitive event with small to moderate fields on circuit course with non-steep climbing. Very well-organized.

Races July 4 week

It looks like the Leesville Gap Road Race is scheduled for July 6th. 63 mile road race with one sustained climb and another couple smaller ones. Lots of flatland before the finish so climbers don't necessarily win. A lot of very rough road surfaces and a couple short gravel sections. Central valley location and July usually means warm to hot weather. Showers and free watermelon at the finish. What more could you want?

Here's the course as a Strava segment:

It's a Velo Promo race, so more information will eventually be posted here:
