I think the biggest finishing field was the cat 3's who started with 60+ and finished with 30+ and a big pack sprint. The top three were really close and the second place guy had a good bike throw to make it close at the line but the first guy ( I think in his post race interview he said he had just started road bike racing after being an expert MTB racer) was ahead by a bit too much. Twelve may have been among the biggest pack sprints, but lots of other folks finished off the back.
Quick report on the Sea Otter M 30+ 4 cicuit race: It was hard! Probably only 12 guys crossed the line at the end. The usual suspects were up at front, but I couldn't tell who won, as I couldn't compete in the sprint and ended up tenth or so. It could have been someone from Team Z. Lots of fun hammering up the hill, with shredding tempo increases thrown in by me, Chris Phipps, Wyatt Weisel, someone from SJBC who I don't know and unattached Michael who some east bay team should snap up. Some wrecks coming out of the corkscrew and in the turn down the pit row straight. Our race was dry, but the rain started coming down for the 3:00 wave. I hope things went well in those races.
