One of my pet projects, inspired by being a novice race promoter in 2006, has been the idea to put together a one-day race promoters/directors gathering. I was fortunate enough to be mentored by Tom Simpson (Pilarcitos), but I know other promoters don't have opportunities like that.

The idea is to mentor new promoters, share resources, and provide support regarding permitting, registration, results, sponsorship, safety, etc. In addition to gaining experience from other promoters, we would bring in some experts to help new (and not-so-new) promoters navigate the daunting task of promoting a race.

I would also like promoters to have an open dialogue with other promoters about which fields they will promote at their races, especially those promoters running races on the same day or the same weekend.

So, is this of interest to NCNCA promoters + race directors?

If so, what topics would you like to see covered?

And, when is the ideal time to meet? November, December, January?
