When I want to scout races I go to motionbased. I would say 85% of the races will show up under the "trail network" and use the search funciton. With motionbased you can get the elevation, speeds etc etc. With this specific link the rider didn't stop his garmin at the end of the race. I assume cool down was included.
They just may not have updated the race flyers. The Merced Crit has what appears to be a similar typo.
Thanks for the motionbased link.
The Velo Promo route description says this year is the same as 1994- 2002. Does that mean it's different than the one used last year?
Thanks so much for that!

Here is a link to the pine flat race: http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/2103952
So I found this:

about the same as the one I tried to make, but still about ten miles short of the stated distance of sixty two miles. Starting from the Island Park Marina and turning right and going for seven miles and back.

Thanks!
I want to say its about 7 miles each way and a very hard portion of the race at speed.
Make it past the OnB and over the summit @ Oak Knoll and its a smooth ride to the climbs before the finish
