Protech Women's Racing is joining Peninsula Velo!

Peninsula Velo is excited to announce the addition of a full-fledged women’s racing squad for the 2010 cycling season. The members of Protech Racing have joined forces with Peninsula Velo to jump start the women’s squad.

Meet the PV Women’s Team

Date: Sunday, December 13, 2009

Time: 9:00 AM

Where: Woodside Town Hall, 2955 Woodside Road, Woodside, CA‎
What to Expect: We will meet at Woodside Town Hall around 9:00 AM and roll out around 9:10 AM. Expect a 2-2.5 hour ride with plenty of places to cut the ride short if you need. The pace will be easy tempo, providing plenty of opportunity to ask questions, learn about the new women’s team, and get to know some of our members better. Moderate to heavy rain cancels the ride, but we will head over to Buck’s or the Woodside Bakery for snacks and conversation. RSVP to info@penvelo.org.

About Peninsula Velo:
Peninsula Velo was established in 1974. The club has over 125 active members participating in all disciplines of cycling including recreational/century, road racing, track, cyclocross, and mtb. The club hosts two notable Northern California races: San Bruno Hill Climb and Burlingame Criterium.

About Protech Racing:
Protech Skincare has been the title sponsor of a women's racing team for the past 3 years. In an effort to increase the footprint on women’s cycling and grow the team, Protech Racing has decided that joining Peninsula Velo would be a perfect fit. What PV gets is a handful of enthusiastic, motivated new members and a whole new depth and dimension to an already vibrant club.

For more information about the club or to learn about the new PV Women's Racing Team please contact info@penvelo.org or visit http://www.penvelo.org.

Outdoor ride is on as planned

Good morning,

As of now, the PV women's ride will go on outdoors as planned. Meet at Woodside Town Hall at 9am, ready to roll at 9:10. Bring your rain cape, and also your trainer in case we have to switch to plan B.

New rain contingency plan

The weather is still looking a bit iffy for tomorrow's scheduled "Meet the PV Women's Team" ride. However, in case of rain we will NOT cancel - we have secured an indoor location near the planned start of the ride for a group trainer ride. We will post a decision before 8am as to whether we will ride outside or inside.

Pen Velo Women's Ride

Just a reminder that the Pen Velo “Meet the PV Women’s Team” ride is scheduled for this Sunday, Dec 13. Unfortunately, the weather forecast is calling for showers on Sunday. I will post to this forum by 8am on Sunday morning if the ride must be canceled due to inclement weather. Otherwise, you may safely assume that the ride is happening.
