Panoche RR

I thought the Panoche Road Race was very well done this weekend, and wanted to pass it on to others. I hope the promoter keeps it going as I suspect it will become a really popular race in a couple more years.
Thanks!

Nine women rode for the State Cnampionships. That's 38% of the licensed riders competing. If men's lower categories had had field sizes tht were 38% of current numbers, fields would be HUGE, and not even possible:
Men under 35 cat 5 would have 127 riders, 35+ would have 256 riders; Men under 35 cat 4 would have 110 riders, 35+ would have 268 riders; Men under 35 cat 3 would have 62 riders, 35+ would have 189 riders.
In fact, 400% more Junior women raced Panoche in 2008 than in 2007. Congratulations!
Just some advise to a few riders. In the future don't stop at the neutral water zone and don't stop right in front of the table. A few minor collisions happened but no one was hurt. Its a race after all not a club ride.
ditto -- fine job all around, thanks!
The organization was great; volunteers (kids) with water, the oranges and snacks available at the end of the race, and the challenging course made for a great day. Thanks to all who made it happen.
I heard that they went through 200 gallons of water for everybody!
I second that comment.
Great race, tough course, and special thanks for all the bottle hand ups from the volunteers.
