Fellow Racers,

For those who raced at either race this weekend we are interested to know your experience.

Was the added step of adding a chip to your bike burdensome? Long waits or lines?

What was your impression of the information that was posted about your race (lap times)?

Thanks,
Bill

We are working to get the file from the promoter so we can post the results.

My question is:
If the results at Hanford were so promptly recorded and posted at the race .... where are they? They've not yet been forwarded to USAC, appended to the NCNCA site, nor announced.

I raced Orosi. The second line there wasn't long, but it's not a popular race so there wern't a lot of racers registering.
If this system was used for all races would the chips would be handed out at reg, eliminating the second line?

The chip extending behind the fork concerned me a bit. If the holder came loose or the chip got bumped (like by another rider), it would wedge in the wheel, possibly sending the rider over the bars. Perhaps the chip would just break in that situation. I didn't test the tensile strength of my chip.

The finish line sensor is a bit tall. With a large field going over the sensor in a sprint, riders could get bumped out of position.

OTOH the chip mount seemed pretty solid and everything stayed in place, unlike the stick on the helmet chips used at San Bruno. And being able to swap chips in the holder makes it easy to just keep the holder on your bike.
