New Officials Clinic 5/5 and 5/6

We are still looking for more new officials to sign up so we can adequately staff race events.
Please do not miss this opportunity for the year as we have invited one of the best officials (Dot Abbott) in the country to teach this clinic.

Please consider becoming an official in Northern California/Nevada.

We continue to face a shortage of qualified officials in our district. If we do
not have enough officials to staff the number of high caliber races we hold each
weekend, 2013 and onwards could result in fewer events being held.

The ideal official is someone who
* enjoys the sport of cycling
* does not mind working long hours and travelling to races
* have attention to detail skills and willing to learn new ones
* has time to work at least 5 races a year
+ bonus but not required, if you know how to ride a motorcycle or want to ride
as a passenger
+ 2nd bonus but not required, if you have a proven record of managing teams and
projects. This translates well to the role of Chief Referee, the official in
charge of supervising a race and working with key stakeholders to ensure that an
event is run safely and fairly.

Preliminary plans for the clinic and sign up are posted here.

Please respond by Friday, 4/6/2012.

Thank you for your consideration,
