I'm on a quest to find a trunk rack for a Mazda Miata. I posted this on the ncnca topic list, and got busted, so I'm trying here.

Well, I went to Yakima.com and learned that my car is unYakable. How disappointing! I was wondering if others reading this have any experience with trunk racks for convertables.

Others on the ncnca list had suggested a hitch rack. This might be problematic because it's a Miata "R", which means it comes with some highly necessary ground effects. I simply can't take these off the car. It might reduce the handling abilities or my aerodynamics. Well, anyway, no, I don't want to take them off.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I've seen a few people use that one, don't recall it on a Miata. With most of the lateral trunk racks you have to remember to firmly attach the bicycle to prevent bike movement that will scratch your car.

Also, if you are mechanically inclined and driving solo to a race and really concerned about aerodynamics, you can remove your passenger seat for bike races to fit more gear into your car.
