I realize the race is still 6 weeks away. Does anyone know which registration service they will be using? Being a cat 4, i would like to make sure i get registered asap.

we've already started getting some reg opening dates from promoters and will be adding them to the calendar.
MERCO registration will open on January 15th @ 00:01 EST ( I guess that means one minute after midnight) for all three events.

This would be a wonderful addition.
Honostly, I'm not going to search through SBO, Active and Bike-reg several times per week trying to figure out which races are opening soon.
It's not so much an issue with the Cat 1-3's as it is 4/5's.
Registration opening for 4/5's is like when the blind folded kid breaks open the Piniota. A mad rush, disregarding all safety, for a piece of candy.
lol....i want to upgrade to a 3 so i don't have to deal with races filling up in 20 minutes. Would be nice to wait until 1 week before the event to decide if I want to go.
Sounds like you'll are working on improving the system. Look forward to using the results.

you're very welcome!
another thought (see, this forum inspires me sometimes) is that we can incorporate each week's registration openings into our weekly blast email to the yahoogroup -- http://www.yahoogroups.com/group/NCNCA
sign up for the group (if you haven't already). and keep the inspiration coming!

thanks Lorri :)

the race is definitely still on! and, no, if you are already registered, you won't have to register again.
BTW, one of the other things we're working on with the NCNCA is that we want to post "registration opens on DATE" on the NCNCA road calendar. this should help prevent some of the craziness and late-night registration marathons. this will take a little planning + communication from promoters as well as a bit of a format/programming change to the current calendar, so it's not going to happen tomorrow. it probably won't even happen the day after tomorrow. but it's in the works.

what about those of us that are currently registared? are we going to be removed from the system and then have to reregistar? guess the most important question should be, after the open registration date changing 5 times now, is the race still on? do we need to start considering a refund?

not a long discussion at the NCNCA meeting. we just wanted to make sure the board was aware of the situation and that we've been working with SBO to put a system in place to ensure that they don't open registration early on any future events.
we've also put together a "brain trust" of folks who are working to resolve the license --> registration --> results through-flow to address the issues raised earlier this week about individual rider data in results (namely team data wrt BAR/BAT).
we've got some great folks working for you this season. I have to acknowledge Bill Nicely, our new VP-technology, for his leadership and his great ideas. I think we'll all see some great improvements in the technology behind the scenes (website, registration, results, etc) as the season progresses.

maybe they'll have this figured out before March
what came out of the discussion on Merco at the NCNCA meeting yesterday?

now it shows: This event is not yet accepting online registration please check back after Jan 15, 2010
I really like this event, but do i have to keep checking back daily to see if the registration has opened early?
I've noticed the "Registration Opens" date has changed twice already. Atleast the time on this third one seem less random. (iirc, it was 7:54am previously)
So does anyone know how/where to sign up for the Merco RR? SBO says it is not accepting registration yet, but 70 racers are signed up. 35+ 4's are half full!!!
Rich
thank you
