May 3rd is Looking for a Race!
Tue, 03/10/2009 - 11:29am
Looking at the road calendar, I see that Sunday, May 3rd, has no race scheduled. It seems a shame to have only one race (Cat's Hill on Saturday, May 2nd) during a perfectly good spring weekend, but I guess it's probably too late for any promoter to shift race dates.

Awesome! Hope to see it as a cat 4. :)
The hills are not to bad. I would say it's a good course for rolleurs. There is climbing but nothing that takes more than 2-3 minutes. I will start a topic shortly on categories. I've been following some of the topics on here regarding categories and I want to make sure the 35+ and 45+ and 4/5's all get to race if they want. In the mean time keep your fingers crossed I can make this happen. I have another crit course that I hope to use later in the year that will be similar to Cat's hill if the city will allow.
I'll be your second 45+. Especially if the hills aren't too overwhelming.
I wouldn't know what to do with a weekend of no racing.
(I just can't see trying to hang with the 35+ 1/2/3's on Cat's Hill. I wish - I wish - I wish he'd add a 45's cat!! I'd really like to try that course sometime.)
I'm gonna try and make it happen. I had been in discussions with other promoters about sharing their date and let's just say they were not jumping at the opportunity. I can't blame em. It's a really tight time frame, a new route, and my first time promoting so don't get your hopes up to high..I would say it's 50/50 I'll pull it off!
The NCNCA calendar now lists "Wenzel Coaching Sonora Road Race (tentative date)".
Great! If you can make it happen, I'll be your first 45+.
I've been looking for a date to put on a road race. Not much time between now and May 3rd but I'll see what I can do!
