Injured Riders
I have noticed in the past two months we have had some riders that are dealing with very serious injuries. I just read the Women's thread about the rider with the injured C3 and being immobilized.
This is extremely disturbing on a very deep level, not just that I feel for the person and the injury, but there is also a potential financial injury as well.
I am wondering if there is a something we can do to create an organization, a fund, an annuity, or insurance policy that could offer financial aid to riders that would endure a temporary loss of income due to a severe injury?
I am sure there are folks out there that may be able to offer some insight on this. I don't have any answers, but I have lots of questions and ideas. I also have the willingness to spearhead something if there is a way to make it happen.
If you have any suggestions or knowledge of what could be created, contact me at ron@ebcyclist.org.

No doubt prevention is the best therapy, but the women that I referenced is an example of a situation that is beyond her control. I watched the crash while mentoring from the back, there really wasn't a particular move to blame.
Keep in mind that catostrophic crashes are not always caused by over aggressive riders, there are other circumstances that can accur.
