Cherry Pie: Traditional course, New categories, Reg Open

Good news for those of you who would have missed the traditional Cherry Pie Crit course with its uphill finish and hairpin turnaround.
The Napa Downtown Merchants’ Association has refused to endorse the Town Race format for this year, and we have thus withdrawn our modified event permit application.

The 32nd Cherry Pie Criterium on February 11th will return to its popular traditional site at the Napa Corporate Park for 2007!

Now that the Meritage Resort at Napa has been completed between turns 2 & 3, the course is cleaner and smoother than in recent years. (The Resort is available for romantic pre-Valentine’s weekends with your understanding sig. other. A great way to politically pave the road for your 2007 season! :wink: http://www.themeritageresort.com/)

Now that the question of locus is finally resolved, pre-registration is now open at BikeReg.com. http://www.bikereg.com/

The final categories and race info are new this year and ordered to make it easier for mentors and multiple category racers. They are as follows:

In case there was any doubt, both junior and senior women racers are eligible to race in multiple categories at the Cherry Pie Criterium:

Women 4 35+: Open Women, Masters 55+ 3/4, Elite 4, Masters 3/4, Elite 5

Women 4: Open Women, Elite 5, Elite 4

Women 3 35+: Open Women, Masters 55+ 3/4, Elite 4, Masters 3/4

Women 3: Open Women, Elite 4, Elite 3

Women 2 35+: Open Women, Elite 3, Masters 3/4

Women 2: Open Women, Elite 3, Pro/1/2

Women 1 35+: Open Women, Elite 3, Masters 3/4

Women 1: Open Women, Elite 3, Pro/1/2

1H2. Women may enter any race for which they are eligible by age, category, and any performance requirements and may enter categorized races for men that are up to one category lower than their women's category, or in the case of category 1 women, up to two categories lower. In addition, category 4 and 3 women who are 35 or older may compete in Masters races for all riders up to 20 years greater than their racing age, subject to other eligibility requirements.
