You may want to check out the North Bay’s new race team, the Eagle Racing Team (ERT).

We offer the most attractive benefits package available to Cat. 3/4/5 racers, including full race reimbursements.

We have training resources to match or beat any Cat. 3/4/5 team in the Bay Area.

We have, in Napa Valley, the best cycle training roads in the country.

We have all of your equipment needs at pro deal.

We have some great folks to race with and befriend.

We are particularly interested in Cat. 3’s, 45+ masters (bald eagles), and women (eagle chicks).

But we won’t be keeping the door open long, so check us out now.

(Or just go check out the web page, the race videos, the schmaltz...)

Hey Jess,
I have a couple of tips for your new team based on bringing an organization up from scratch. These are just things we have learned from the school of hard knocks, take them or leave them.

1. Instead of race reimbursements to beginner level riders, put the money towards development. Get a coach or coaching company as a team sponsor and offer to subsidize the expense.
Hire a professional to do team exclusive tactics and skills camps.

This makes your club dollars go much further and provides a far greater value to the club member. In essence it enhances their cycling experience.
Besides, what really is $140 to a person that likely banks a 6 figure income?

2. Actual sponsor deals should be member only information. Sponsors do not really like having what they are giving to clubs out there for public view. Besides, if cat 3, 4 or 5 is signing up for your team based on what they get, send them down the road.

3. Pick a bike, one bike sponsor, not 5 or however many you have. If it's about the shop, the owner can spend a few minutes calling the reps and find out which manufacturer has an opportunity. He may have a specific line that he wants to promote.

Best of Luck,
Ron
