Central Valley Classic - Final Results Posted
The final results have been posted for the 2006 Central Valley Classic, including Omnium points and some minor revisions to Kearney and Tower.
It took me a while to get the results formatted for the web (and to get all of the pieces together), thanks for your patience.
They are posted here in HTML format:

Thanks to all of the amateur riders and their family members that decided to come out to our tiny little NRC race. We strive to put on a top-notch event for pros and amateurs alike. This year was a definite challenge for us with all of the weather-related logistics issues, but thru hard work and careful planning I think we managed to keep it together pretty good.
Hopefully we will be able to get more riders to come out next year. Fresno really isn't that far away. Those of you that came, saw, and enjoyed, please spread the word.

..yeah! For not showing up the crit!
seriously, this is a great race. Very well organized, lot's of fun, cool setting, flat as a pancake...
I think being the week after McLane might have killed it, in combo with the weather and alternative races.
I think it would be a good idea that we not have events competeing with NRC races.
Nor Cal desperately needs a high quality stage race that rivals some of the Oregon races. The CVC race is the race to do that.

Great race! Your organization was fantastic!! You can count on me (and Berkeley) to be well-represented in the masters every year.
Yes, it was disappointing that more masters stayed home rather than brave the weather. Frankly, the cold and wet were far less strenuous than facing the wind at Zamora.
And great job on the GC prize design. It's a precious addition to our home.
Thanks Jonathan. (And greatest thanks, Tom O.)

Yeah more riders would be nice. We had less than 40 M35+ riders on both days (that is the 1/2/3 and 3/4 fields combined). That doesnt give us a whole lot of confidence for adding an additional masters field for the TT.
However, adding more stages / fields to the omnium may be possible next year.
In order to run more groups up Tollhouse, we would have either had to limit the field sizes or shrink the start interval from 1 minute to 30 seconds. The use permit restricted the amount of time we could use the road due to school bus traffic, etc.
Well, the weather this year was definitely an aberration. Last year it was quite warm. For the road race in 2005 the temps were in the mid-80s, and the 30-year average temp for those dates is in the 70s. Moving it to later in the year would jeopardize NRC status, pro teams like having the early season NRC races within 50 miles or so of each other.
I agree the RV thing would be great. We have a lot of issues to discuss with the county, that will be one of them.
Thanks for the suggestions, we are meeting next week to discuss things, so keep em coming.

You guys did an outstanding job!
I have tree things on my wish list for next year's CVC.
1. More riders to show up.
2. A third stage for the Masters 35+ 1/2/3
3. Maybe later in the year to ensure warmer weather.
Maybe an arrangement with the park to let the RVers stay Saturday night?
Thanks again to all at CVC for a great race weekend.
