Central Valley Classic

The flyer for the Central Valley Classic races list fields for M35 1/2/3 and M35 3/4 for both the circuit race and the criterium. Does anyone know if this is correct? Seems strange to have the two options available for the masters cat 3's...

Change is the one and only true constant in life.
LOL
The flyer for the Central Valley Classic is correct, we are running a 35+ 1/2/3 and a 35+ 3/4 field on Saturday and on Sunday. A Masters Cat 3 has many many options to race on Saturday and/or Sunday. Someone that wants to put in some serious race miles can actually do two road races on Saturday and three crits on Sunday.
We are hoping tho' that some amateur racers will actually come out to Fresno this year. Our Pro fields will fill up for sure, we anticipate 150 Pro/1 men and around 100 pro women, but for an NRC race we would like to see more registered riders in the amateur categories. We really try to put on a top-notch event for everyone. Anyone on this forum that attended last year can attest to that.
Make 2006 the year you decide to experience the Central Valley Classic.

I wish there were more 3/4 races of any flavor, although perhaps if I were a 3 I might not feel that way.
Seriously, seems like a more logical way to combine fields than mixing people with limited experience (4's) and people with absolutely none (5's). Also seems like the 5's will always fill up on their own? Look at Snelling - the only field not close to filling or already full is Cat 3.
I know the feeling, that is why I avoid the 45+ group...
Could also be that since there will be no cat 5's in this race, there is the possibility that a 35+ 4 field might be a bit small...
Actually I think it is a good idea. There are quite a few Masters Cat 3s that don't have any interest in mixing it up with the 1/2/3s. There are some serious guns out there in the 35+ group.
It's nice to have the option to cherry pick a race after battleing it out with the Hernandonater (not so lightly) every weekend.
