You can find the 2011 NCNCA Race Calendar here:

This calendar link will remain active until we make the calendar available on the new NCNCA website being launched in the next couple of weeks.

Where is the contractual exemption for Hellyer?
NCNCA is supposed to be supporting racing, not necessarily USAC.
The location of the exemption is in the contract. Isn't the freedom of BOD Members to promote non-USAC events at Hellyer the very epitomy of supporting racing, not necessarily USAC? And you can thank me as I got that exemption in the contract.
One CX series in 2011 was on the calendar, and they were run under ABR permit.
George,
This is such a resurrected dead issue. The e-mail I sent to you about your ROAD event on 3/7/2011 read:
"The Road Calendar is coordinated in November for the following year. We have very strict policies about allowing new entries on the calendar to protect our promoters from unfair competition for dates they have already planned. You are choosing not only to circumvent that system but are permitting through a non-USAC entity. Our calendar is provided as a part of our contractual obligations with USAC. For these two reasons (unfair promoter competition and contractual obligations) we will not be able to put your event on our calendar. "
I also encouraged you to approach the BOD if you disagreed. You wrote to everyone the same topic. It was discussed and my answer to you above was affirmed, thus now making it a BOD decision.
The facts:
1) You did not submit to our calendaring process (which we control for the Road but not Track nor CX).
2) You did not permit through NCNCA, thus not paying our fees that go to sustain the very website you wish to advertise on.
3) Your event was not promoted by a USAC team nor NCNCA Member Club.
4) You were competing for riders with promoters who did follow steps one, two and three.
I have been consistent from the beginning, Road events are scheduled through our calendaring process. We also do not advertise out of district races, except for Nationals. ALL of your exceptions and supposed variances are from Track or CX or clinics. There is no inconsistency.
I think you should respect the Board decision, especially because you will soon be serving on that same Board. If you would like to propose a change to the policy make it where there are decision makers. Providing partial facts here does no good and only potentially misleads.
Will submit three events complying with at least 3 of the 4 "requirements" above.
Team Project Sport is a USA Cycling Club and Team (USAC Club ID 10126). They run their events under USAC permits. Perhaps the word "or" in number 3 above threw you for a second. What that means is that either must be true, not necessarily both. So, yes, you must comply with number 3 George.
Further, there is currently a clause in the USA Cycling contract that requires Board Members to permit through USAC (exempting Hellyer events). So if you intend to promote an event you might want to consider the information provided for YOUR benefit. By the way, the scheduling process is currently under way.
This is NOT new information to me, Bill. I've seen prior contracts and am aware of the wording on promoters. You assume more than you should perhaps.
No assumptions George. I have no way of knowing what you are aware of concerning the USAC contract. Many BOD members in the past never read it nor did they read the NCNCA Constitution nor California Corporate Law. Some of this I know by actual admission, some is inferred by the actions contrary to those documents. Since YOU were on the BOD when a lot of those actions took place it would be prudent of me to inform you of the details.
The contract has changed so the wording is different. Since you would potentially schedule (or not) prior to taking a seat on the BOD. The idea here is to give you information in a timely manner so you can make an informed decision. Next time "Thanks" will suffice. You have a good day George.
You're welcome.
Yes, for races added after the Scheduling Meeting.
Why didn't the CBR race(s) get on the calendar? Apparently CBR is a USAC club: http://www.usacycling.org/clubs/?order=name&club=California+Bicycle+Racing
Not to worry. Next year's CBR and ABR's races will be posted on the calendar.
I don't think CBR or ABR events will be posted on the NCNCA Calendar in 2012.
We have an obligation to support the events organized by USAC NCNCA Member clubs under USAC permits.
NCNCA Members pay fees that help pay the costs of the NCNCA Website, and USAC pays rebates to NCNCA towards the costs of the NCNCA website-it's in the contract between NCNCA and USAC. For NCNCA to support non-USAC road events is directly counter to the financial support from USAC and NCNCA Member clubs, and would increase competition against NCNCA Member clubs.
As an incoming Board member, George, you need to remind yourself that your fiduciary duty is to NCNCA Members-to support their interests, and to adhere to the contract between USAC and the NCNCA. If you fail to do that you can not remain on the NCNCA Board.
Thank you for your opinion Warren.
Delilah,
When information offered is consistent with past practice, it is NOT opinion, it is POLICY. We'll teach you all about how this works once you are seated on the Board of Directors. I know that you don't like the information and would like to support ABR, CBR and other alphabet soup causes the reality is that there is no traction for your cause George. You should be a bit more in tune with what Member Clubs' needs are rather than your pet cause.
I hear CBR is going back to USAC next year. Food for thought.
Reread the Oct 18 reply. CBR's future is not my concern, but rather the strength of NCNCA's future. I've read the documents of governance and know that your vote and mine are EQUAL. I don't aprreciate the condescending tone of your remarks to me. I am not an ignorant juvenile. We are both BOD members. I was voted in, just like everyone else. And tell the new president he can't kick me off the BOD. There's a procedure for that, and thus one person doesn't have that authority. And the USAC 2012 contract was NOT examined last night, due to time constaints of more "pressing" issues.
1) My comments predate your appointment to the BOD so they were based on your position at the time of being an outsider and apparently ignorant of facts.
2) We do not HAVE the 2012 USAC contract to review, so what we did or did not discuss had no bearing on reviewing the contract.
3) I am not your communications officer so any information you wish forwarded you will have to effect yourself.
4) Your vote is equal, your intellect and influence, not so much.
5) Your appreciation (or lack thereof) for my tone will probably have zero bearing on its future pitch. It is based on my perception of what is appropriate to the nonsense that you post.
6) As to the ignorant juvenile comment, all evidence to the contrary, so therefore I must unfortunately disagree. I would point out, however, that they are your words, not mine.
You are a Keyboard Hero, in person, not so much. It is fascinating and entertaining to me to see you write things that say NOTHING believing that a) people care and 2) that people get you.
How is the calendaring of CBR and ABR races going for you so far?
No, they will not. That is unless you convince four other Board members to reverse their policy.
do we really need to add info about tuesday night crits in LA ...or Ohio?
There are lots of new races on the calendar this year. In the past, we've seen new races posted than didn't actually happen (including a bunch from a promoter who has a number of new races on the calendar for 2011). The NCNCA used to assess a new race bond to hold a spot on the calendar (returned when the race was actually promoted). Are you still doing this?

Eight evening races on the calendar. Just got notice of a ninth.
Those will be decided at the December 6th BOD Meeting.
Bill,
Thanks for posting the calendar. Which events will host the district RR and Crit championships for the various categories?
Thanks,
Eric
