2008 BAWC Awards Ceremony
Please save the date for the 2008 BAWC Racing Series Awards Ceremony! The Awards Ceremony will take place the evening of Sunday, November 2, 2008 in San Francisco, at Sports Basement in the Presidio.
Local hero Sarah Bamberger will be our featured Outstanding Woman in Cycling to speak about her experiences as a bike racer. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in the Category 3 and Category 4 Individual and Team competitions; racers, friends, significant others and family are welcome to attend and bask in the glory of these incredibly talented women. Please join us at the Awards Ceremony for the 2008 Northern California Women's Racing Series and the Lecture by an "Outstanding Woman in Cycling" (given by pro cyclist -- Sarah Bamberger) to be held at Sports Basement – Presidio, in San Francisco, on Sunday, November 2, 2008, 4-7pm. Prizes will be awarded to the top 10 places in the Individual Competition and the top 3 places in the Team Competition for categories 3 and 4 (for more information, see http://www.BAWcycling.com/results.html). Free refreshments, time to congratulate your friends (and yourself!), and a chance to talk with folks from other teams off-the-bike -- what could be better?! WHAT: Awards Ceremony for the 2008 Northern California Women's Racing Series (sponsored by the NCNCA) and the Annual Lecture by an Outstanding Woman in Cycling (sponsored by Bay Area Women's Cycling)
WHO: Pro cyclist and local superstar, SARAH BAMBERGER, will speak on her experiences in the peleton. Sarah has had outstanding individual results during her tenure on the Cheerwine Cycling Team, and has also has also been instrumental to her teammates' success a valued support rider. Best of all, she started out right here in the NCNCA!
WHEN: Sunday, November 2, 2008, 4-7pm (refreshments: 4-4:30pm; awards ceremony: 4:30-5:15pm; lecture: 5:15-6:30pm; mix and mingle: 6:30-7:00pm)
WHERE: Sports Basement – Presidio, 610 Mason Street (across from Chrissy Field), San Francisco, CA 94129. Note: There are two Mason Streets in San Francisco – this is the one in The Presidio.
NOTES: Women, men, and kids are welcome! Admission is free. Donations to "Bay Area Women's Cycling" are welcome and will be used in-full for the 2009 Northern California Women's Racing Series, sponsored by the NCNCA.

DIRECTIONS:
FROM THE EAST BAY (BAY BRIDGE ): West across the Bay Bridge (Hwy. 80). Exit Harrison St. Right onto Harrison St. Left onto The Embarcadero. Left onto Bay St. Right onto Laguna. Laguna turns into Marina Blvd. Drive along Marina Blvd (west toward Golden Gate Bridge) to the stop sign at the Marina Gate. Stay in the right lane, cross the intersection where Marina Blvd. turns into Mason Street. (Note: Unless you want to see our store from the Golden Gate Bridge, the left lane turns into Hwy 101 and will lead you over the Golden Gate Bridge). Sports Basement's Presidio store is on Mason St., approximately 500 yards past the Crissy Field center on the left.
FROM THE NORTH BAY: Hwy 101 South toward S.F. (Across the Golden Gate Bridge). Exit Lombard St. From the right lane, take a sharp right onto Gorgas Ave. Stay left on Gorgas. Right onto Halleck. Follow Halleck to Mason St. Left onto Mason. Sports Basement's Presidio store is on Mason St., approximately 500 yards past the Crissy Field center on the left.
FROM THE SOUTH BAY: Hwy 101 North to Highway 80 East (towards Bay Bridge). Exit 7th St. Left onto 7th St. Left onto McAllister St. Right onto Franklin St. Left onto Lombard St. Stay in far left lane (Lombard Street veers to the left) and enter the Presidio through the Lombard Gate. Right onto Letterman Dr. Right onto Lincoln Blvd. Right onto Halleck. At the bottom of the hill turn left onto Mason Street. Sports Basement's Presidio store is on Mason St., approximately 500 yards past the Crissy Field center on the left.
