2006 BAR/BAT
Thu, 04/27/2006 - 8:50am
Does anyone know if there is a BAR/BAT competition this year? Its 4 months into the season and I haven't seen any kind of update so should I assume that its not being scored this year? :(
Its too bad if its not because I've always thought it was a great competition and a way to gauge how well you've done.

When will BAR/BAT results be posted for the 2006 season?
Thanks
Our team President has asked the results computer holder to "get on it!" at our team meeting last week.
Alpsmasher,
Any luck with getting your team Delta Velo to post their Pacific State Bank GP results up on NCNCA. The Pacific State Bank GP is still not posted. There are a lot of riders who would really like to get the points. The Bat/Bar points are supposed to be up in October and it would be nice to have those points there for them to use.
Thanks,

Any time table when the BAR/BAT points will be updated?
I agree 100%!
At our last team meeting we did place alot of pressure on the team members to complete the results. The hang-up has been the complicated Junior categorie issues that been bogging it down.
I have requested they post all other results, then re-post when Junior issues solved.
I'll e-mail the team admin that we are still getting alot of requests for this task.
Michael
Michael,
The Pacific State bank crit has not posted their results and it has been awhile. The pros are posted but the other cats top 10 have not been posted. Maybe you might have some pull since your team is Delta Velo Racing.
Regards,
Steve Lindroos

Didn't know how to e-mail my info, except through this forum. What is/who best to e-mail with BAR/BAT questions/follow-ups?
I'll e-mail VeloPromo to see if they can send you the "top 10" for Pine Flat. I'm sure the 7-10 placers would like the credit.
Thanks for the response. And we all thank the BAR/BAT point list staff.

If that's the rule you should make that clearer to those of us who only read the web page, right now it says:
"Riders and Clubs are eligible for points on the date the USAC office processes their membership."
http://www.ncnca.org/barbat/BAR-BAT-rules.html
I thought just the fact of renewing w/usac & being in-district made a club an ncnca club in 06, & eligible for BAT. If the newsletter is gone and USAC is kicking our $ back to NCNCA now why is there still a separate NCNCA membership? Is it basically a BAT entry fee at this point?

This is the line just above what you quoted.
All Northern Califonia & Nevada USCF license holders and NCNCA member clubs who are residents of the NCNCA district will automatically earn points.
Note how it says NCNCA member clubs.
About 1/2 of the NCNCA revenue comes from the race surcharges paid by NCNCA member clubs. NCNCA member clubs get use of the NCNCA equipment ( snow fencing, finish cameras, first aid kits etc) when promoting a race. In addition to the membership fee the member clubs pay the race surcharge of $1 per rider per race. Many clubs that don't directly promote their own race don't belong to NCNCA. THe BAT is an incentive to some of the clubs that don't directly promote their own events to join NCNCA. In addition to the BAT member clubs can attend the monthly meeting and vote on NCNCA issues. UNfortunately not enough member clubs take advantage of this membership privilege.

Yes, I too really appreciate the effort in putting this together; it is a great motivator for racing in the NCNCA.
I wrote Larry regarding the results from the Snelling 35+ 4/5 race and he informed me that:
"I need to fix the 35+ 4/5 race(s) for Snelling, my program didn't like they way I entered the two races."
Hopefully he can get that done soon so the current 35+ 4/5 BAR reflects the true standings

Casey,
Thanks for the clarification.

I know the race organizers really tie your hands with delayed or short finish lists that do not list all top-10.
My results are missing on several events:
Race Lic. #: 190117
Name: Michael Cockrell
Team/club: Pacific State Bank/Anderson Homes (Delta Velo Racing Club)
Race/# Results missing in BAR listings:
Pine Flat Road Race: Masters 45+, 7th Place, 7th Place, #57
Orosi Road Race: Masters 45+, 7th Place, #321
Leesville Gap Road Race: Masters 45+, 4th Place, # 753
Also noticed that my team was not listed on the BAT/Masters 45+
Thanks again for this service
IN the official results posted for Pine flat only 6 places are listed for the masters 45+ race. http://www.velopromo.com/pine-rl06.htm WE base the BAR/BAT points on the official results as posted. Your Orosi results is included in the posted BAT ranking. It looks like your team is properly listed next to your name in the ranking.
Since Leesville Gap just happened like 3 days ago the results from that race will not show up in the BAR/BAT rankings for a while, at least not until another update is done. You can see which races are included in the current rankings by going to http://www.ncnca.org/barbat/Point06.html It looks like the Wente weekend is the oldest races included in the current rankings.

For some reason I'm listed twice in Cat 4.
Once as Christopher, and once as Chrostopher.

How come Sea Otter doesn't count towards BAR/BAT?
Are you going to post here. I would also volunteer to help if that's what you need.
Hi Larry,
Any luck with the BAT/BAR standings? Would volunteers willing to help collect some race standings help? I'm willing to pitch in if it would help you out...
Ted Burns
Yes,
There will be a BAR/BAT. I have completed the points tally for the first 10 races.
Unfortunately not many promoters are furnishing usable results, requiring a lot of time to look up racers, etc.
If the initial postings aren't up on NCNCA.org early next wek, I'll ty to post them here.
If people really want it, hire somebody to run it and score it with the L.A. funds we get back from USCF. Having a season goal of races is really nice.

Yeah, we've been wondering the same thing. This was discussed elsewhere but seems to have been dropped - we district teams might need to step up and assist in some way. I think my team mate Larry Upthegrove had something to do with this in past. It might be a heavy burden for just a few people to score, but easier is we coordinated a shared scoring plan. Some have mentioned selecting som of the district races rather than every single event. Team EMC2/Vellum Cycles is willing to help... how do we help?
