2023 NCNCA New Official of the Year: Oralia Arce

Oralia worked diligently and competently through her first year on both road and track events. She was always well prepared, eager to learn and exceptional with her skills.

Her experience as a racer gave her good insights into the intricacies of racing and she knew how to apply this information effectively. She worked well with others, followed directions well, stepped in when and wherever she was needed.

2023 NCNCA Moto Ref of the Year: Max Amara

In his first full year as a MotoRef Max worked 16 race days as well as one race as an AR, showing the dedication needed to excel at this work.

In addition, Max showed initiative in getting extra experience as a judge both locally and nationally, as an intern. Max always brings a positive attitude to his work.

2023 NCNCA Official of the Year: Dustin Yue

Dustin exhibits dedication, expertise, and professionalism. He is an invaluable asset to the NCNCA cycling community and he brings his expert knowledge in the mountain bike discipline as former racer and organizer, rider enthusiast, and race official.

Dustin is a skilled referee, capable of managing all aspects of race from registration, starting, timing, scoring, results, managing event emergencies all with the limited resources afforded by collegiate events.

Dustin’s most exemplary qualities include his patience, understanding, and commitment to fair play. He showed that he was willing to go the extra mile to ensure that every race is run smoothly and fairly by demonstrating a lot of patience and understanding with the collegiate teams and racers, who can sometimes be unpredictable.

This season, Dustin was the only official to work all mountain bike collegiate events in Northern California. This meant traveling as far as Humboldt in the north to Santa Cruz in the south involving many weekends away from his personnel life, but he managed this daunting assignment with grace and dedication.

Dustin is a dedicated, skilled, and professional official.

Thank you again to ALL our NCNCA officials for all the work you put into our races!
