Justin Robinson's Nats Experience:

As far as how the weekend went for me?........I think it went really well. Not only did I win a national championship with far too little effort, but I finished higher than I thought possible in the Elite race. And to top it all off, most of my family was there to share the experience with me. I am very happy about my weekend.

As I said 30+ nationals seemed to be a cakewalk. I don't want to seem overly cocky, but I never had to attack, barely had to follow anybody's wheel, and aside from tearing my rear derailleur off on the last lap, I barely stressed about anybody catching me. Of course racing at the front the whole day still made me ride in fear. But in my experience thats just the nature of the beast. I guess the course and the weather and my body were all in tune on that day so it all worked out quite well.

The elite race went quite differently. Although I still rode basically the whole day by myself, I was sandwiched between Ben JM and a group of four riders ahead of me that I just couldn't catch. It was a little frustrating, but when I see that I ended up 13th I get completely stoked. Entering the race I thought top 15 would be a very good result for me, and I attained that so I am very content.
