Central Valley

From:   John or Linda Elgart <elgart4@home.com>
Hey it's raining -- Cross weather!  Sunday we did a little "grooming" of our W Sac course, and we encourage folks to go out there and break it in.

To get there, go to the Lighthouse crit course. The CX area is all south along the river: Go south on the levee road (gravel then pave), left turn into the sand, run across the big gully, right on double track. left down to riverbank, N along river to RIGHT turn up embankment and through trees (this is new), over branches, left across old foundation and out to pave, up to levee, right on levee, right down levee to two big logs, run up embankment, cross dirt to 2nd embankment next to chainlink fence, right to levee road next to entry gate.

The course has a nice rhythm, no goatheads, few people. A lap at A speed is 4 to 4:30. Something to think about: We get together monthly in the "off season" (that's Jan through August) to race this course. --John and Linda

South Bay/Santa Cruz

From: Ben Jacques-Maynes <adugast@earthlink.net>
I will be leading cross training sessions on Wed. evenings at De Laveaga Park in Santa Cruz.  Start time will be 5 pm and we'll finish when we can't see any more. This is more of a pure CX workout than a clinic: all riders are welcome but the intensity level will be geared to a higher level rider. In other words, we do intervals until our legs fall off!  --Ben

I live in Santa Cruz, and am interested in training rides.  I'm a cross neophyte, and am looking to learn some skills.
Regards, Chris
