Start Times: Registration from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
10 a.m. start for C group (C Men and District BAR Junior Men.)
11 a.m. start for B and A races . The B group includes B Men, BAR Master 35+ Men, and BAR Women.
If the A (open) field is large, it will be delayed to start at 12 Noon.Courses: As below: dirt, mud, trails, open land, stairs, pavement; obstacles (artificial and natural) to force dismounts.
Distances: "C" race is 30 minutes plus one lap; "B" race is 45 minutes plus one lap; "A" race is 60 minutes plus one lap.
Categories: Categories are rider selected. "C" riders are new to cyclocross, and should move up to "B" by end of season. "B" riders are those that are experienced. "A" riders are expert.
District BAR Categories: Junior Men, Master 35+ Men, Women and A Men will be picked separately for district BAR points. These categories race concurrently with the A, B, and C events as listed in start times above. To be picked for district points you must race in the appropriate event (i.e. Master Men racing in the As will receive A points but not Master points; Juniors racing in the Bs will not receive Junior points, etc). Make sure you identify yourself appropriately to registration staff.
EBCX Series Points & Prizes: Awarded to the top ten overall in each group each day -- A, B (B, Mas, Wom combined), and C (C, Jr. combined).
Points are transferable to the next category up if you move up, but are only worth half as much in the next higher category. (4C=2B=1A).
Point/place values: 1-10th: 20,16,13,11,9,7,5,3,2,1.
Might be Double Points at final race (call/email for confirmation).
Series prize values (all merchandise): "A"- $300; "B"- $200; "C"- $100. Prizes to 6th in each category. Must be present at final race to be awarded prizes.
EBCX Points/Prizes are for combined fields in each group (A, B/Mas/Wom and C/Jr). District BAR categories are not picked separately for EBCX points.Entries: $17 per rider per day. (Includes NCNCA surcharges). No late fees. Enter at race only. Juniors (under 18) must have parent's signature on NCNCA entry form/release. One form for entire race series. NCNCA License is needed. Both Annual ($10 good till Jan 1) and one-day ($2) licenses are available at the races.
Course Dates/Locations:
PLEASE CALL EACH WEEK TO CONFIRM SITE!!!September 22, Saturday: East Bay Cyclocross Clinic, Robertson Park in Livermore. Take Hwy 580 to Livermore Avenue exit in Livermore and go south 2 1/2 miles (through town). Turn right at Wente Ave (at the baseball diamonds) and then right again into the park, follow signs. Fee is $15, includes lunch. 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., instruction by experienced riders.
September 29, Saturday: Race #1: Sand Hill Ranch between Livermore and Brentwood. Take Vasco Road exit from Hwy 580 just east of Livermore. Head north on Vasco 14.5 miles and turn left at the traffic light at Camino Diablo. Just short of 2 miles, turn left into Sand Hill Ranch. The place is a BMX/Dual Slalom set-up, but the course will be a cyclocross in and around the other courses. There is little shade, so if it is to be a sunny day, bring some shade along.
October 13, Saturday: Race #2, [Site Change] Rodgers Ranch (Greenville Yard) east of Livermore. Take Hwy 580 to Greenville Road exit ~3 miles east of Livermore. Follow frontage roads east to Greenville Road and go south on Greenville 1+ miles; turn left after railroad underpass, and follow gravel road uphill to course. If gate is closed when you arrive, leave it closed after you go through to keep in cattle. Course is 1.5 miles of dirt roads, trails and open land, at least one long run-up, some mud. Registration opens at 9 a.m., Cs at 10, B's at 11, A's at 12 noon.
