Cycling on the Road hits high gear this month, and rolls on full speed each weekend until the first week of October!
Road season is awesome in the NCNCA, the most active region in America for great races! This Saturday is the Bicycles Plus Crit. in Folsom. Then on Sunday is the classic Cherry Pie Crit. in Napa.

NCNCA Meet the Teams Day is on for Sunday January 27. Weather report is slight chance of showers, mostly before 10 a.m., so be ready for it. This is better than waiting till next week to find a lot of rain. See you in Fremont tomorrow!

2013 NCNCA MEET THE TEAMS DAY
The 2013 Road Race Season is ramping up for the entire NCNCA region! The Early Bird Criterium Training Series has been a major bonus for countless riders over the years for skills clinic & mentor work, as well as quality group criterium practice. Huge thanks goes out to Larry Nolan and the dedicated NCNCA Mentors who provide outstanding training for all who join this program. Velo Promo is awesome to provide this venue for the NCNCA clubs and members to advance Road Cycling skills and fitness leading up to the constant racing in our region starting in February.

NCNCA Meet the Teams Day
This Sunday, January 27, will be the annual NCNCA Meet the Teams Day at the Early Bird Criterium in Fremont. Teams can reserve a spot (10x10 for a tent/table etc) to display club paraphernalia, sponsor products, and provide information to potential team members and new riders. No sales, please. Riders are welcome to browse the booths and find out what teams and clubs have to offer. NCNCA Meet the Teams Day goes all day, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 pm, but teams are not required to be there the whole time. Contact velopro1@sonnet.com to reserve a spot for a booth/table.
There is a possibility that the NCNCA Meet the Teams Day will be postponed one week in case of rain, though we will be there for the race in any case. The Women's Committee has been hard at work and the first mission we had was to create a survey for all current licensed Women to have the option to take.
I emailed the survey out yesterday to 533 Women in California and 12 in Nevada who are currently licensed.
IF you did not receive the email from me, here are a few things I would like to request you check..
-check your SPAM box for an email from me via Survey Monkey, early afternoon was when it was sent
-you would not receive this email if you have chosen to OPT OUT of emails from USAC
-you would not receive this email if you have chosen to OPT OUT of Survey Monkey previously
So, if you did not receive it, please email me and I will send you the survey.
I also ask if you can let your teammates know that this was sent and request they look for it and take the survey.
We are trying to directly ask Women in the district what you want in racing, what makes you want to race and any other issues you have so we know what the committee needs to work on to get you and keep you racing.
If you take the survey you also have an option to enter to win 1 of 4 $25 gift cards as a thank you for your time.

NCNCA President Update- The 2013 Annual Officials' Meeting is on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 12:00.
It will be at the Livermore La Quinta.

Plan on about four hours.This meeting will cover:Changes to the racing rules, Official appointments and selections,
Using the new and improved Wiki in the appointment process, Care and use of NCNCA equipment,
Socializing and schmoozing with your fellow officials. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Dinner afterwards is PYO.
This meeting is especially important for new officials to meet and impress the Chief Referees who make most crew selections.
If any of you are inconvenienced by the scheduled time, please understand that there is no time that fits everyone.
